Course Overview
This practical course covers the technical knowledge and fundamental skill sets needed for planning, installation & commissioning of fire alarm systems in residential & commercial premises in accordance with BS5839 Part 1. The course also provides a working understanding of fire legislation & fire risk assessments.
From associations and inspectorates to using test equipment correctly, This is a ‘hands-on’ workshop-based course, fully supported by expert tutors who deliver training in an intuitive and insightful way. We ensure you leave your course confident and capable to deliver what is needed in your role.
The course carries a BTEC Level 3 Award – a respected qualification for anyone seeking career opportunities in the electronic security sector. By holding this qualification, you demonstrate to your clients and colleagues you have proven skills in fire alarm systems.
Over three days you’ll be guided by an expert tutor in one of our practical workshops who will support your learning and explain the material in a relatable and engaging way. This ensures you leave the course ‘job ready’, confident in your role.
There are no prerequisites to join this course – all are welcome. The typical learner for this course can be installers, sales personnel, technicians, engineer, consultants and fire alarm system users. This training course is also an accepted qualification to count towards the Certified Technical Security Professional Register application.
