The Register of Certified Technical Security Professionals (CTSP)

For many years, the security systems industry has been unregulated, often resulting in poor levels of service.  The need to address training, probity and safe working practices is increasing, linked with the demand for raising industry standards.

The CTSP Register is a searchable register for consumers, employers and contractors to find and validate professional competence.

It has been formed as a means of recognising the competency of technical security professionals fulfilling roles in the security and fire systems sectors.  This includes engineers/technicians (installation, maintenance and commissioning), system designers, auditors and consultants.

Disciplines covered by the Register include:

  • Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
  • Access Control
  • Intruder and Hold Up Alarms
  • Fire Alarm Systems
