Tavcom Training participates in Learning at Work Week

This October Tavcom Training will be participating in the annual Learning at Work Week (LAWW) from 5th – 9th October 2020.

What is Learning at Work Week? Learning at Work Week is a unique annual event to build learning cultures at work and is ran by Campaign for Learning. The scheme aims to put a spotlight on the importance and benefits of continual learning and development, something which is just as important now as ever.

We at Tavcom Training invite everyone to take part, whether you’re self-employed, a business owner, an employee or someone who is considering a career change into security. The week promotes an inclusive approach and encourages opportunities to learn for all professionals, especially those who may not currently participate in learning. If you do choose to participate, you’ll be joining some of the biggest companies including Virgin Media, American Express, and Canon UK.

How can you take part? Well it’s simple. As this year’s theme is ‘Learning Journeys’ with a focus on Continued Professional Development, we want to hear about your learning journeys and experiences or even help you to undertake some CPD training to boost your skills and knowledge. To help with some ideas, below we’ve outlined just a few ways you can take part in the week:

  • Listen to a security podcast – we recommend Brian Sims’ Security Matters
  • Undertake some security training – we recommend our bitesize courses for something budget friendly. They’ll also earn you some CPD points…
  • Read a blog post to broaden your knowledge
  • Share or tag us in your learning journey experiences on social media. We like to see them.
  • Watch a CPD video – check out our Resource Library for some good ones

This week is open to all and it’s vital that our development in our professional careers continues. The most important thing is that LAWW is shaped to work for you; the last thing we want is for learning and development to become a chore, so if you can’t take part this week, no worries, pick a date that suits you better. If you need that touch of inspiration or further ideas, make sure to follow us on social media, or reach out to us directly if there’s a particular experience you’re keen to share! We’ll be here learning too…
