NEW FOR 2010! The SIA are introducing a modular structure to their licensing qualifications. SIA 1 is the common module and is mandatory prior to completing your first licensable course.
Once completed this core module means less overlap and duplication in training content across the sectors.It also makes it easier to gain qualifications for additional sectors, as just the relevant additional modules need to be taken.

CCTV Public Space Surveillance
NEW FOR 2010! You will need a Public Space Surveillance CCTV licence if you pro-actively monitor the activities of members of the public in public areas or on private property or use cameras to focus on the activities of particular people either by controlling or directing cameras at an individual's activities or using recorded CCTV images to identify individuals or to investigate their activities.

Door Supervisory
NEW FOR 2010! This course is designed to educate Door Supervisors on the laws governing licensed premises, their management procedures and best practices in dealing with members of the public.
For the purpose of the SIA licence, the Door Supervisor's course is focused mainly on all venues where alcohol is sold by retail i.e. pubs and night clubs. It is in these licensed premises that a Door Supervisor is required to maintain security and order.

Security Guarding
NEW FOR 2010! The Security Guarding course focuses mainly on the role and responsibilities of a Security Guard within the Manned Guarding sector. This includes monitoring ‘systems’, manning gates and barriers and undertaking reception duties at corporate or commercial premises. Security Guarding training covers the role or use of communication in conflict management.
