This Tavcom/Edexcel initiative is a ‘first’ for the security industry. BTEC Level 3 Security Systems Diplomas are the most comprehensive vocational qualifications available for installers, operators and others in the security systems sector.

How can you obtain a Diploma?

A selection of courses in our CCTV, Systems, Operations and IP sections have been allocated 1 to 5 Diploma ‘units’ which are awarded upon successful completion of each course. Each of these units is equivalent to approximately 10 hours of study. To acquire a CCTV, Systems or Operations Diploma you must accumulate a minimum of 22 Diploma units within a 5 year period. You must complete the 4 compulsory ‘core’ courses which represent 11 units (CCTV Diploma), 12 units (Systems Diploma) and 16 units (Operations Diploma). You can then piece together your own selection of additional courses until you have built up a minimum of 22 units in total. You will then be awarded your Diploma.

Which courses should you choose?

After completing the compulsory courses you may plan your own route to your Diploma. Think of it as choosing a selection of pieces to complete your own jigsaw puzzle. Although the size and number of your pieces may be different to those of other people, the end result will be identical - a Tavcom BTEC Diploma!

For people in a hurry! If you are interested in acquiring a Systems Diploma in just one month, consider our new Fast Track route. You have to attend a pre-set selection of courses but we have arranged our course calendar so that you can take these ‘back to back’ within a 4 week period!
