Tavcom and the IET

For the past 17 years Tavcom has fought tirelessly to drive up standards of training and educational qualifications in the security industry. We introduced BTEC Awards and Diplomas to the systems sector and now, working in partnership with Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), we have ‘raised the bar’ of professional recognition still higher by providing our students with a new and exciting opportunity to apply for professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech).

Agreement has been reached with the IET that the acquisition of a Tavcom Level 4 or 5 course BTEC Diploma will be accepted as confirmation of the underpinning knowledge and understanding required for professional registration. If you are able to support this by demonstrating competence through your work based activities you are encouraged to apply for registration.
